We just got back from Kansas City from the 2008 Race for the Cure, which was an amazing event. There were about 25,000 people there participating in the race and thousands more supporting on the side. GIVE had the pleasure of being the official water sponsor for the event and donated about 30,000 bottles of water to the runners. It was such a fun and amazing event and everyone seemed ready to run to fight breast cancer. I’ll get some photos up later. Until then, I’m going to get some sleep—I just got back from the airport and I’m exhausted!

Kansas City Race for the Cure
Tuesday, August 26th, 2008Global Links
Tuesday, August 12th, 2008Hey guys, Nikolai here. So Andrew and I just spent the day volunteering over at Global Links, a Pittsburgh-based non-profit organization that provides medical supplies to third world countries. While we were there, we packed up boxes of gauze and other medical supplies that will be sent to developing countries in Latin America. It was an awesome experience—just the idea of knowing that when these products arrive at local hospitals, they will help save lives is an awesome thought and knowing that we had a role in getting them there is such a powerful feeling.
Thrown in this entry are a couple of photographs that we took while we were working there. There were literally boxes everywhere of medical supplies ready to be shipped and sorted. It was literally like being in a medical warehouse. This is something that we hope to do a lot more of at GIVE – giving back to our community, even if it’s just the little things. This could be an awesome opportunity for us to get our name out there.
Race for the Cure NYC
Friday, August 1st, 2008What’s better than having a partnership with Susan G. Komen for their Race for the Cure event in New York City? Having a partnership with Komen and Race for the Cure in New York City AND Kansas City. We just got off the phone with the Kansas City chapter and we’re pleased to announce that we are the official water sponsor for this year’s race, which will be in August. We’re so pumped right now that I don’t even know what to say…I didn’t expect the movement to be growing this fast and we have so much work to do to keep it going.
